The Game (2002)

In June 2002, I created the short film "The Game", featuring an homage to one of THE most popular and well-known Video Games of it's time, PONG. There had been a few short animated films apparing online that were based on current popular gaming franchises like GTA and Halo for example. "The game" was both my tounge in cheek salute to that 'trend' and also my way of thumbing my nose,as I saw them simply as an attempt to "hitch their wagon" onto a popular property. So I created "The Game" to parody that.
I grew up playing pong and it's pixelated brothers, and had pumped many hours of my childhood into spinning the paddle. I thought it deserved a place amoungst geek-referance heavy films.
The film released to wholly positive reviews, and was applauded for it's cleverness and good humour. To this day it, and it's sequel "the game 2: the doggie" is still often listed amoungst peoples favourite films I have made.
