Blip (1977)

Blip is the attempt of toy manufacturer Tomy to take advantage of the Pong home video console boom, with a reasonably priced pocket game variant. This becomes apparent with the subtitle the marketing strategists have come up with, “The Digital Game”. It reflects how popular video games had made digital technology itself at the time. This is because Blip works completely mechanically. It must be wound like a musical clock. Only the LED that forms the ball is battery-powered.
